My Dad would be proud
We spent four hours in the ER with Sean last night. It probably would have been longer if Marjie hadn't dated the doc years ago. Sean has pneumonia. Poor baby! He's been sick all week, first with a fever, then with a cough, then with not being able to eat or drink because he couldn't breath and do anything else at the same time. They gave him a nebulized albuterol treatment, steroids and put him on antibiotics. They told us to use a nebulizer at home. Well, we don't have a nebulizer at home. The respiratory therapist told us home health would bring us one. Sean isn't on our insurance because his parents haven't signed any papers and he isn't on Medicaid (because his parents haven't signed any papers). So, he is basically uninsured and I didn't want to pay the home health agency $400 for a nebulizer. My very crafty husband went online at 1 in the morning to find a way to improvise. (We had the tubing, nebulizer canister and mask from the ER). Don found out the hospital has between 40 and 80 pounds per square inch of pressure, aquarium pumps have 4-7 and airbrush pumps have 35-40. We now have an air brush pump nebulizer. If Sean becomes an artist he is all set. And there was no duct tape involved. I have a smart husband and my dad would be proud!

not much happening here
David was teaching Sean how to throw a basketball into a hoop. David was so cute with Sean it warmed my heart. As soon as I took the picture David left. I don't think he wanted documented proof of him being a really nice teenager. David starts high school hockey on Mar 30. He has practice three days a week plus games. That with guitar on Tuesday should keep him busy.
Mom had a lot of help eating popcorn. Nate was eating it and he doesn't even have teeth. He would even take the popcorn out of Sean's mouth. It was funny to watch her with Sean and Nate I had a flashback to Carter and Stephanie as babies standing at mom's knee.

Don and Alika go skiing at Snow Basin
Don and Alika went to Snow Basin today. Don skied, Alika snow boarded. They had fun but said it was really windy at the top. Snow was good, company was good, food was good. David didn't want to ski, he was sore from hockey. He stayed home with his mom who is recovering from surgery. She had her spine fused on Thursday. They did it through her neck. Don saw her today and she's actually feeling better then she was before the surgery. Alika says she is in really good spirits. Amazing what relief from chronic pain will do for you.
I worked all day, taught for 10 hours. Sean went to see his birth parents for the day. Don took him over at 8:30. They were all asleep on the couch in the living room. Jenny said they were getting up early to meet with the bishop about getting some furniture. I told Don last night that since LDS social services was paying for their apt that Ryan would quit his job at DI. Sure enough he's already quit. "It's toooo hard" he said. Un-freaking believable. I was so angry I could hardly look at him. How can you be that irresponsible. I am predicting in the next 10 days there will be some more drinking or drug drama. I told Kylie and Brie I would take them swimming tomorrow. Kylie cried and wanted to come home with me...please she said. It made me sad. I brought Sean home in a poopy diaper dried to his bum. He went straight to the tub, had a scrambled egg and was asleep in bed within 30 minutes of getting home.
