Sick kids

Hanging out with a bed full of sick kids on a Friday. Sean was briefly feeling better until the pneumonia hit. Khloe was brewing up a fever and case of pink eye.

Chick Fil A picnic in Sean's room.

Jumping on the trampoline for a minute until the wheezing started.

It was such a warm day out we decided to clean out the hot tub.

Sick Sean

The letter below came BEFORE Sean missed two more weeks of school. He had the flu for a week. I thought on Sunday he was getting better but that night he got worse. I had him go to school on Monday which lasted about two hours. He couldn't breath and was crying. I took him to the doctor for an x-ray and he has a left lower lobe pneumonia. They started him on antibiotics and oral steroids.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
This letter serves as written notice of the school's concern about your student's attendance.
The State of Utah and Davis School District policy require schools track the attendance of all students.
Students are required by law to maintain a level of school attendance.
Our records indicate that to date, SEAN has had 13 absences and 6 late arrivals. The process of
education requires continuity of instruction, class participation, and study. Frequent absences from
class disrupt the instructional process. Success in school is dependent upon good and consistent
attendance.
A copy of your student's attendance history is attached, we ask that you review this history with your
student and discuss ways to ensure improved attendance.
The Davis School District Board of Education asks for the cooperation of parents and guardians in
these matters so each student receives the best education possible.
Unexcused absences and extensive tardiness may result in a referral to District Student Services in
accordance with District Policy and Utah State Law.
Please call the school at 801-402-1850 As soon as Possible to schedule a meeting with an administrator,
where together we can formulate a plan for your student's success.
Thank you,
Julie Hoth

Sick Vally

It's been two weeks of nothing but sick in this house. Vally came over last Monday with a fever and general misery. I took her to the doctor they screened her for flu and then treated her for an ear infection.

When you're sick you have to use a lot of tissues.

This little girl is all things Minnie Mouse.

I had her all week and by Friday she was feeling better which was good because they left for Disneyland Friday afternoon.

Smart Kid

Sean has missed so much school this year. We had three days for our trip but he's missed two weeks with fever and coughing. I got "the" letter from the school. My second one this year. Not sure what I can do about it.

Despite his multiple missed days he's doing really well academically. We asked the Chinese teacher if we should get a tutor but she said he is not behind

Tether Ball

Sean's really into tether ball at school. Don set up a tether ball on the basketball court. Sean's been loving it. Here he is playing with a friend from school, Jacob.

Ice Skating Competition

Khloe had her first ice skating competition. I was really sad, it was held in Murray and we thought it was in Bountiful. By the time we figured out we were at the wrong place there was no time to drive there. She did great and won third prize. I was so bummed about missing her performance. Sean said "gee Mom when are you going to get over that?" Hm, probably NEVER. She has a competition next month in Provo.

She came over afterwards to get her flowers and some sparkly earrings.

She wanted us to take her out to lunch. I told her we would go wherever she wanted and what she wanted was McDonalds.
