Easter

I told the boys to make sure they left enough eggs for Khloe. Ha, I thought I might have to tell Khloe to save enough eggs for the boys. She is a super hunter. She likes to collect things so hunting eggs is right up her area of expertise.

Jake showed up at our door with an empty basket. I guess that was his way of saying "hey are you having an Easter egg hunt?"

I didn't feel like doing a big cousin Easter egg hunt this year. I'm not sure what my problem was. I didn't even have Don take the eggs off the shelf in the garage. I just bought a pack of 48 eggs. Alika came over stuffed and hid them in the living room, dining room and kitchen. It was easy and the kids liked it. No ants, no eggs getting run over with the lawn mower. Sean found a gold egg in the tree last week. Khloe opened it up and yuck it was an egg from last year full of nasty stuff.

Sean's computer art

Sean's been doing free hand computer drawing. He is a good artist.

Dying Easter eggs and baking cookies

Khloe put every egg in every color and had some gray eggs. Sean and Jake colored on theirs with crayons before they dyed them.

Khloe cracked and egg and then decided to eat it. She ate half of it and then threw it in the food coloring!
After we were done with the eggs we made some Easter cookies.
Little Miss Two-year-old had a full blown tantrum when I wouldn't let her frost cookies on the living room run. MAMAAAA, PAPAAA! I told her mommy and daddy wouldn't let her frost cookies on the carpet either but she didn't believe me. Don distracted her and she moved on.

After all that time in the kitchen it was time to go play in the back yard.

Easter Bunny at Walmart

Sean and I were at Walmart and they announced over the loud speaker that the Easter Bunny was in the back of the store. Sean said "I wonder how they caught him?" I said maybe he's back in the hunting department. We thought we were pretty funny. Sean humored me and had his picture taken with the person in the rabbit suit.

Insulation and rain gutters

We were able to get a rebated from Questar on the insulation so it only cost $450.
The same day they were blowing in the insulation the rain gutter people came to install the gutters. It was a busy day after waiting a week for the gutter guys. We also had a company come out and clean out the air vents. He said he'd never seen so much dog hair in vents before. I don't know if it was the truth but they were disgusting!
The new gutters. The raccoon entry way is now closed!
A beautiful sight.
We are going to have the outside of the house painted but they can't do it until April when the weather is warmer.

Bonnie Craft

I ordered a monthly craft from a company called Kiwi Crate. This month was supposed to be a hedgehog pencil holder. Sean didn't want to make a hedgehog. He wanted to make a Bonnie the Rabbit from Five Nights at Freddies. The crafts are supposed to help kids be creative and he was creative.

The final result. Bonnie holding a pencil!

Backyard adventures

We had to dig the post out of the backyard. They were the cement blocks that held up the addition we had torn down. We don't know how far down they went. Once we got down far enough to cover up with dirt we quit digging. Everyone got in on the action. Khloe helped put cement pieces into buckets.

On of the blocks broken off.

Carter loaded up bricks that were in front of the storage shed we had torn down. He also loaded a very heavy metal post full of cement into the dumpster. The neighbors had rented a dumpster and they let us pay them to use it. It was very helpful and saved on a lot of dump runs.
Don rented a jack hammer from Home Depot for 4 hours. Alika was over for awhile with her puppy. I'm not sure why I don't have any pictures of her.

Tiny Dancer

Khloe started dance lessons. Steph said she was throwing a temper tantrum, screaming and yelling. Even the dogs wouldn't look at her. Steph came down the stairs with her dance clothes and Khloe saw them mid scream and changed her little two year old attitude.

Sometimes they get in trouble

Angela (Andrew's mom) and I both got this email from the boys teacher. These two love to play and sometimes they play a little too much! Sean said he did not mind writing a report on why he shouldn't run with scissors.

Hey ladies,
Today we had an interesting situation. Apparently, Andrew and Sean took scissors from the Chinese class. They had them in their pockets when they came into my class so I didn't notice the scissors, until after lunch recess when they were trying to cut things with them. Once I talked with them it became clear that they also had them outside during recess. This concerns me for their safety and the safety of other students. They have lost 1st recess tomorrow, which they will spend in my room writing for me reasons why it is important to be safe at recess, and the importance of not taking things that do not belong to us. Please have them explain things to you from their perspective, and if I am misunderstanding what happened I will adjust the writings. However, after talking with Victoria, she did not give them permission to take the scissors.

Thanks,
Robyn

Progress

There were a lot of holes in the cement under the garage. Because we had raccoon and rodents getting in the house we wanted to make sure we were closing off all potential entry ports. Don had a cement guy come out and build a retaining wall around the back of the garage.
Much improved. The rodents will have to find somewhere else to live. I hope they don't move down the street to our house.
The gutter people are installing new gutter where the add on was taken down and putting up the panels to keep raccoon out of the attic. Don had to finish the doorway so the gutter can be installed above on Wednesday. He's going to put in a storm door.
The work of an analytical. It turned out very nice. Don's going to rent a spray painter and paint the outside of the house.
Today I started painting some areas in the living room. The old paint is a perfect match so I only have to touch up the areas we've patched I don't have to paint everything. The only room we don't have left over paint for is the yellow in the master bedroom so we may have to paint those three walls.
