Kindergarten field trip

All four kindergarten classes went to Wheeler farm today. That's close to 120 kids plus teachers, parent volunteers and the functional skills class. The kids had a great time.

Today was Lin Lao Shi's last day. She is moving to California tomorrow. She will be missed. She has been a great teacher and has taught the kids so much.

I think the kids favorite part of the day was riding on a school bus. Good thing they don't have to know how much they would hate it if they had to do it everyday. I detested the school bus when I was kid! I would have loved to live within walking distance.

While we were waiting to get on the bus a little girl named Dakota came to me and said "every time I touch this finger it burns." I said "well don't touch it then." She looked at me in disgust and said "I'm looking for someone with problem solving skills." Ha!

Proving for certain that summer is here

In case a picture of Sean in the outdoor pool wasn't proof of summer here are pictures at the lake. I was really worried the lake would be low because at the end of the summer I had never seen it so low. The north side of the lake looked like a golf course. It is higher this year than it has been for the past five. The trees and rocks where we sit are under water again! Yeah!

We walked down to the lake just to have a look but the kids wanted to get in. Freezing!  I was going to step in up to my ankles to take a picture but decided to just take it from the side.

This picture made me laugh. Sean's head is photo bombing this picture of Tyson.

After playing in the lake we went to the pool and had a picnic.

Sean and Tyson jumping.

Seriously, does this look safe? No!

They would climb to the top and then hang down and let go.

Summer is here

We took Khloe in her stroller to Chili's for lunch. We keep forgetting that she is a baby and babies require "stuff" when you go out for walks. She did really great but we didn't bring any toys to the restaurant so we were amusing her with spoons and straws. Khloe is a big fan of watermelon lemonade but she's not feeling the love for the stuffed baked potato soup. Personally I thought it was pretty tasty.

We know summer is here because we went swimming in the outdoor pool at the rec center!

End of Kindergarten work

Sean brought home his Chinese work folders today. He said that he likes speaking Chinese more than writing Chinese. I can't read Chinese so I will take the teachers check marks to indicate that he did well.

Writing his numbers 1 - 100. These were timed and they were supposed to go as fast as they could.

May Day's

Sean and Jacob wanted to have a sleep over on a school night. Kindergarten doesn't start until 10:30 so I said it was OK.

They put grocery bags in the toilet so they could set Mario and Luigi on the toilet. Nice:)

I got Khloe a My Little Pony blanket. It is very soft so she lays on it and rubs her head on the pony's head. So adorable. Khloe is adorable, not the blanket.

Practicing her chalk art. In addition to putting the chalk in her mouth she made marks on the side walk. She would get so excited when she marked the side walk. "What is this wizardry?" She is almost walking.

Sean had been to a back yard water birthday party and came home with squirt guns. He had two and gave one to Jacob who didn't go to the party.

We walked up to D.Q. We stopped at Jacobs house and he came too. Poor Jacob had six teeth pulled and a bunch of crowns on Thursday. He looks pitiful.

Khloe likes both strawberry and orange Julius. When she wanted more she would kick her legs really hard and flap. Subtle but I got the hint.

Sean taking pictures of me with the camera on the tripod.

This is what happens when you sleep on a wad of silly putty. I read that WD-40 is the only way to get it out. I figured scissors would work too but decided to just throw the pants away. It came out of the blanket with stain remover. It did leave a stain and I had to wash out my washer after I took the blanket out. There were little wads of silly putty in it.

Kindergarten class photo

Soccer

Sean missed his first week of soccer because he was sick and the second week because it was raining and cold. The coach said two people showed up for the soccer game in the rain. He was hyped to play.

I'm not sure what is so funny.

I tried to get a picture with both Samantha and Sean in it with out much luck.

All the kids just standing there looking at the ball in the net. They run up and down the field in clumps.
They lost but it's all good they still got to go to McDonald's afterwards.

Samantha was trying to get Khloe to cozy up but Khloe wasn't having it.
"Hey Grandma there is a strange girl in your house and she's playing with MY toys. Please do something about that!"

Everyone doing their own thing.

Kindergarten

I can't believe Kindergarten is almost over. A few more weeks and summer will be here. Sean told me yesterday he wanted to go to his house at the lake and go boating.

They hatched eggs at school last month. They kept them for two weeks before they sent them to new homes. Sean now wants chickens, or a cat. Jake spent the night last night and today they drew pictures to tape on the fish tank. I guess if that's the only pet you have you make do.

My big boy! I know if I blink this will be a high school graduation photo,

Spelling test.
