Bikes

The bikes that were supposed to arrive in 3 to 6 days but arrived in 13. Our electric bikes. They cost more than my first car and they are going to get abused by the sea air. Hopefully we will get our money's worth of fun riding them.

We found this oyster trap washed up on the beach full of oysters. We saw three dolphin on the beach in front of the house one day and today Don and I saw six playing pretty close to the shore.

Sleep over

The girls spent two nights. Khloe got a little sad at bedtime both nights but she was easy to distract and then she went to sleep. We had a tent set up in our room. Vally woke up in the middle of the night "What is happening?" By morning both girls were in our queen size bed. The second night I set up the king blow up on the floor and in the morning I was on the kins with Khloe and Vally was in the bed with Don.

Sean had practiced piano 90 minutes to 3 hours a day. He is doing it to pay for his keyboard and new mouse not for the love of music.

Helping Grandpa unbox the bikes.

More fish and sand fleas

Happy Surprise!!

I was out walking on the beach Wed and when I walked in the front door these little faces surprised me!!! I just realized I didn't take any pictures of AJ or Steph. How sad is that.

The girls had fun playing in the pool.

Sean had fun playing on his computer. He really doesn't want to go home. I have to say I agree with him. I really want to stay too. Sean and I have tickets to come back July 2nd with Catherine. Don is supposed to work in office twice a week so he really needs to get home and show up to work.

Hunting for ghost crabs,

Hunting for sand fleas.

Brownies and pizza.

Khloe caught a couple little fish.

Sun in our eyes. I was really, really happy to see AJ, Steph and the girls.

.Extending our stay

We were supposed to go home on Monday but we're not ready. I ordered some bikes that are taking forever to get here and we are enjoying our stay. Sean has his new gaming computer so he said he would stay for a year. Because of COVID we can change our plane tickets once without a charge so I moved them back a week and now we will go home on June 2, 8 days later.

We've been pretty busy doing nothing. We swim after 6 when it's not so hot. Because they opened up the rentals on Thursday and it is Memorial weekend we are staying inside most of the day. I've been breaking my 5 miles of walking up into 3 segments. It's just too hot and humid to walk that long at once during the day. It's really not even that hot it's only 85 but it sure feels hot. The beach was really crowded today in front of the condos. I saw pictures of downtown and it was crazy. We haven't gone anywhere other than the post office and the grocery. Sean does not like to eat out so he is loving life. We've been here over a week and we had Hardee's in the car on the drive here and we've had take out from Subway twice.

We had two decent storms. I was out walking during this one and decided I'd better head home.

This was before the weekend crowds.

Getting Sean out of the house. We've been watching Chinese Netflix shows with English subtitles. Sean has been practicing piano three hours a day because he want's the "points" so he could get a new keyboard and mouse for his new computer. That is one spoiled boy.
Watching the waves.

At the beach

We made it to the beach Friday. The airports were empty but the plane was full. Everyone wore mask except the idiot in front of us who took his off so he could cough and snort. Sean slept both legs of the trip.

Don did some sleeping too. I don't think I did.

I was so sad when we were pulling out of the airport and had to turn right to St George and not left to Tallahassee to see the girls. So close and so far away. When we were driving to the beach a bear lumbered/ran across the road in front of us. I've had deer and elk but never a bear cross in front of us. Well, except at Yellowstone or Bear World.

I found donuts that Alex had bought when they were here.

I'm pretty sure they have long exceeded their best eaten by date.

And Vally's collection of feathers.

Don actually went for a swim. The water if nice for this early. It is hot today. Yesterday we drove to Panama City to buy Sean a gaming computer. I got so car sick and was sick the rest of the day. I've seen stories about the destruction in Mexico beach and St Joe's Port from the hurricane but driving by miles of destroyed properties was really overwhelming. So much loss. The Air Force base is still destroyed as well. I don't know where all those families are living. When we were here at Christmas Trump was at the base and told everyone he would have it fixed better than new in no time. Pathological liar and there are people in Fla with flags with the morons face on it flying from the back of their pick up trucks. The first couple weeks of COVID reminded me of the first couple of weeks of Trump winning the election. I would go to bed and wake up with an impending sense of doom but over time these strange events become the new normal.

Short hair is great at the beach.

Just keeping on

Jacob came over and hung out with Sean for a couple of hours. It was the first person Sean had seen other than Tyson and his sisters in 2 months. I don't think Sean has really missed his friends he's becoming a gaming hermit.

I'm going gray so I decided to get my hair cut short and see how gray it really is.

laying in the tub looking at my feet thinking soon I'll be laying in my St George tub looking at my feet.

Side Note:
The President is a freaking idiot. Everything that comes out of his mouth is moronic. He's now made up a thing called "Obamagate." When the reported asked what it was he said "you know what it is, everyone knows what it is." Every time he talks stupid comes out. He believes and to some degree is correct that if he says it even though it's obviously wrong  it becomes a fact. What a fucking idiot and half the country supports this mentally unhinged lunatic. I don't think I've ever felt such utter contempt for another human being in my life. Why oh why can't he just go the hell away.

May the 4th be with you... technically it's the 5th

As usual I can't sleep so I'm typing at 1 a.m.  I've walked at least 10,000 steps everyday for eight weeks. Today I made 20,000. Across from the park there's a fence with artwork.

I've given up on counting days. I worry that things are going..... the wrong way.  The country is so worried about the economy that they are trying to get everyone back to work even if it's not really safe for them to be back at work. The president is insane and somehow people keep supporting him.  St George Island is taking an interesting approach. They are allowing people to stay in hotels but not rentals. People are protesting the shut down and demanding their right to do whatever they want. For some reason at the same time many protesters are wearing guns and somehow involving their second amendment rights. The world is seriously confused and messed up. We are still debating if we should go to Fla this month. Utah is fairly stable and the beach is safe but could we get sick on a flight. Steph is worrying  about catching Corona and we couldn't be closer than 6 feet to the girls.
I just noticed today that there are stickers on the floor at the grocery store telling you what direction to watch. They've been there a couple weeks but I never saw them. I guess I've been walking the wrong way.

Sean was complaining about his bathroom needing to be cleaned. It was a great segue into Sean learning how to clean a bathroom.
