The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Soldier Summitt

Sean spent one of his UEA day offs spending the night with Kylie and Brie. It was good timing because we had no access to our kitchen. Jack was spending the weekend with Kylie and Brie. We picked the kids up and took them to the Headless Horseman at Sleepy Hollow wagon ride in Heber. It took 2 hours to drive to Herriman and then Heber, then two hours back. The kids had a lot of fun.

Jack is a funny kid. No fear. He was picking up rocks and then wandering around giving them to other children.

Starting to put things back together

The process of putting the house back together has been slow and not particularly steady. Here's the guys unloading all the tile.

Putting the new tile in.

For two days we had no access to the kitchen. We had the washer, dryer, dishwasher and tables in the living room.

The tile guys cracked me up. They brought a microwave and heated their lunch up on the steps.

No access through the front door, no access through the back or side doors. That's a problem. After a few hours we were able to step lightly across the top step.

One of the other Chinese interns came over. She was in our living room and said "you have a nice house." That cracked me up. Really, you can even see the house.

Making Progress

The amount of time it's taken to repair the little bit of water damage we've had makes me feel really bad for people with real damage from floods, fire, hurricanes..... It's been a mess. We had to move everything out of the kitchen and dining room so they could tear up the tile. They wanted the floor open to dry for 10 days.

I could not believe the amount of mess the tile removal made. So much dirt and dust.

To get ready for the tile to go in we had to take everything out including the washer, dryer, dishwasher and all the contents of the closets.

Wednesday they delivered all the tile and prepped the floors.
They glued down some sort of plastic underlay.

Today they started laying the tile.

Cute Faces

These girls are just so dang cute. They can spend hours in my tub. After Khloe gets out Vally will lay down flat and float on her back.

David and Kendra

Will it rain, will it not rain? It was a rainy week and the weather called for rain on Saturday. Kendra decided to move the reception inside to a church and keep the wedding outside. The weather was a little cloudy and cool but pretty much perfect.

They each read a poem and wrote their own vows. They did a fabulous job. It was really touching.

Sean fell at school Friday and hurt his arm. The x-rays didn't show any fracture but he's been wearing his sling ad taking advil ever since.

Don's dad spent two nights with us then drove back to Denver for a night with Matt and then Kansas with Dava before returning to Illinois.
