Thanksgiving

We had chicken for Thanksgiving dinner, sitting on the deck watching the ocean. Today was the coolest day so far. The high was only 61. The weather has been beautiful all week. There have even been kids in the ocean and pool.

Apalachicola gym

Sean was worried about not being able to go to the gym for a week. He found a gym in Apalachicola he could join for a week. It was the first black school built in Franklin County in 1947. It closed in 1968 after the schools were integrated. Now, it's a community center.

It took 3 months to get the new sliding glass doors made and installed.

My beach puppy

We left Odie with AJ and Steph, but Holly has had a blast.

I even had a 20,000-step day with Holly. She has probably 25 miles off leash this week. She never gets to walk off leash but since the beach is empty for miles we've let her off leash, and she has had a great time chasing birds and looking for crabs and stinky dead sea life.

We did have one Holly "incident." Don and I went to the grocery store, and Sean and Holly were home. Sean was in the shower and the front door blew open. Holly got out and was running around lost. A renter found her and scanned her. He called but I didn't answer because I was driving. He left a message. A few minutes later, at the grocery store, my phone rang again. This time, it's a neighbor two doors down. She said, "Carol, I've got Holly, and I didn't know you were in town." The guy who found her thought Angel's house was someone else's, but he gave her Holly and said he had left a message with the owner but had somewhere he had to be, so Angel kept her, scanned her, and called. As soon as I hung up with Angel, I got a call from Sean asking, "Do you have Holly?" When I picked her up, Angel was giving her dog treats, which is funny because she doesn't have a dog.

Early Thanksgiving

We were leaving for Florida the Friday before Thanksgiving so we had an impromptu Thanksgiving the Thursday before. David and Kendra were on a cruise.

CH CH CHANGES

Lots of last happen in your kid's lives and you don't realize it's a final. The last time you can pick your child up, the last time you breastfeed or change their diaper, the last time you help them wipe their bum or they sleep in your bed. This month has had a couple last. This was the last bottle I made for Birdie with formula. She's one now and can drink regular milk. Since I realized it was a last it made me a little sad. How can little Birdie be growing up so fast?

While I will definitely be giving Sean rides, this was "the last" time I picked him up from school because he didn't have a driver's license.

Yep, here he is getting in the passenger seat, getting ready to go get his driver's license. Because he took the driver's test the Friday before his birthday with his driver's ed teacher all we had to do was go to Farmington, get his picture, a vision test, sign some papers, pay some money and he is now an official driver.

Since he got his license he had really enjoyed driving and drives around Centerville, Farmington and Bountiful just because he can. He wanted to drive to the Delta Center with his friends for a Travis Scott concert that started at 10 pm and went to 1 am on a school night. Ummm, hard no. He went to the concert but one of his friends' mom drove. How did my little Biscuit turn into this 16 year old man child.

I've become a dog lady

What the heck has happened to me. I'm now baking dog treats.

In addition to making dog treats I'm washing dog diapers. For some reason Odie has started peeing in the house so I'm putting her in washable diapers. I don't even know who I am anymore!

I looked out the backyard today and Odie was outside peeing and I hadn't taken her diaper off.                                                          Seriously, who am I!

Birdie is in to anything and everything. She likes to "take it out, take it out, take it out." It's funny to listed to her when she plays. She sings her Ms Rachel songs, "open, close and open close" she says when she opens and shuts the toy eggs.

Sick Bird

Birdie was having a good day and then started acted a little off. I picked her up to put her down for a nap and she was HOT! Her temperature was 102. I felt bad for her and bad for Alika because she was out of town for a trip when Birdie got sick for the first time. Her temp came down really fast with ibuprofen and she felt better. She's got hand, foot mouth! I remember when Carter and Sean got that. Obviously at different times.

Right before the fever hit!

Cute little trick or treaters

We were pretty bah humbug about Halloween and didn't even go to a pumpkin patch or bring down the decorations but these little trick or treaters were cute.
