Indoor Soccer

Sean's indoor soccer team started last week. They've won both games. I don't think it's because they are particularly good rather the teams they play are exceptionally bad. Sean's team does have a really good goalie. Last week Sean was cold so he ran with his hands in his pockets. He said it kept him from touching the ball. Good point but I was worried he was going to land on his face. This week he did better but he has a cold and had to use his inhaler. He looked kind of sick when he was playing but he had fun. As soon as we got home he went to Jacob's house for his birthday party.
Last week with his hands in his pockets. They can't order more uniforms now. I don't understand why he started playing with them last fall but whatever. I found a BOCA Argentina uniform on Amazon for $20 and that's what he started wearing this week. It's close enough and it's easy to spot him because he has a stripe across the back and the rest of the kids don't.

Final score. We were the guest.

My little ski bum

Sean has gotten really good at skiing. He can beat Don down the mountain. He skis really fast. It's amazing. Especially to me who can't ski.

First time skiing when he was three. He didn't like the cold.

Don would pull him around with his ski poles.

At 4 skiing with Ethan. He likes spring skiing because it's warm.

Practicing with dad.

First ski lessons at 5.

Second year of ski lessons at 6.
Fifth year on the slopes at 7. He looks so much bigger this year. Ski lessons start in February. We've had hardly any snow this year so hopefully we get some in the next couple of weeks or they'll be skiing on grass and mud.

Busy weekend

Kylie photo bombing Sean. She looks like a vampire getting ready to bite his neck.

The girls had never been to Tepanyaki. They had a great time. They were all really tired. They stayed up until 1 a.m. at Kylie and Brie's house. Lanette got the tougher end of that deal. They are always so excited the first 12 hours together that they are bouncing off the walls.

We went and saw "Paddington" a so-so movie.

Underwater picture of Brie.

Those three love each other so much.

The kids were so good and for a minute I thought "I could have adopted all of them" and then I got tired. I told Don I had that thought and he said "I never think that." When I took them home Kylie and Luke immediately started fighting. Lanette is a great woman.

Kylie cracked me up. She and Brie tore apart a couple of the Chinese ornaments Phoebe has hanging on the door knobs. They threw all the thread on the floor. I said "Good grief that makes me mad. Don't tear stuff up and then throw it on the floor for me to clean up." The girls just looked at me and I said "I'm sure your mom is not OK with that." Kylie said "we throw stuff on the floor all the time she doesn't care." I said, "oh and I suppose your dad doesn't get mad either" Kylie said "he get's really mad but he's working on it!" Too funny.

Jabber

Khloe has very long and animated conversations. I'm just not quite sure what she's saying but she says it with enthusiasm. Usually I can figure out the jest of what she's saying because she will take you by the hand to whatever it is that she is talking about.

Parallel play they cal it in the child development books but I think by the time you're seven you are supposed to have passed that stage. Khloe likes to put stickers on stuff.

Dartside

Tyson had his birthday party earlier this month at a place called "Dartside." You run around with Nerf guns shooting each other. Sean loved it.

When the girls came I took the three of them. At first Brie said she was scared but after a few minutes she loved it too.

Not a secret

I hadn't told Sean that Jennie is pregnant. I figured it would just confuse him and there was nothing he could do about it. Kylie and Brie know so I knew it was only a matter of time before they told him. We were in the car and the kids were in the back seat. They were talking about the time Ryan punched Brie in the nose and made her bleed. Then the conversation changed to adoption. The girls wanted to know how many sisters Sean had in addition to them. Sean told them just Alika then he started naming off all his brothers including Ryder and ending with "the other one we don't know." One of the girls said "Connor." Sean said "no his name is Damien and he's 10." The girls said "Connor is the baby." Sean asked "what baby?" I said "Sean doesn't know about the baby. Kylie said "well then we shouldn't tell him." I said, "no, it's OK, you don't need to keep secrets." They told him that Jennie is pregnant. Sean didn't say anything he just looked sick. Kylie said "he doesn't know what to say." Sean said "That makes me really sad." Then Brie said "me too I hope they don't hit him. Kylie said "I hope they feed him." Sean said "I never lived with them so I don't remember anything." Kylie said "I remember everything."
Riding a four wheeler at Kylie and Brie's. The Richardson's moved to Draper. It's great for us because it's half as far as Saratoga Springs. It's only ten minutes from my classroom. It makes visits easier. They are just a couple of miles from the freeway but they live on horse property so it feels like they are out in the county.

Sean spent Friday at their house and the girls spent Saturday and Sunday with us.

Discovery Cove

I loved Discovery Cove when we went four years ago and I still love it. I have no desire to live in Florida but if I did I would go to Discovery Cove a couple of times a year.

Sean really got the snorkeling down. He got so good that he grabbed my hand and pulled me out in the deep to show me all the cool stuff. "You've got to see this" he said.

Alika

Loreal and Phoebe in the lazy river.

All of us in the lazy river.

Don doing a hand stand in the pool by the lazy river.

I don't remember the birds from last time. They were pretty cool.

Sean was so excited when one finally landed on his arm.

They really liked David. He wasn't trying and they were landing on his head.

I bought a new phone that is water resistant. I gave it the ultimate test spending 8 hours in the water with it. It did great. It's suppose to be water resistant for up to 30 minutes.

My sand man. It was 10 degrees and snowing in Centerville this day. There were also 70 plus mile an hour winds. It was a good day to be at the cove.

Sean got a shark. He still has the dolphin he got the last time we were there. It was a really great day. Perfect weather!
