The Spirit of Peoria

We had lunch next to the river and then met up with Don's step brother Matt and his girl friend Dawn.

Another perfect day. Great weather, really nice boat. Dawn is a nurse. It was the first time we met. She's really personable and was a lot of fun.

Kirk and Lauren's wedding

The wedding was beautiful. The guy that married them was strange. He sounded like a sports caster the entire time. It was really an emotional day. Darci and Sharon missing was tough. The guy performing the ceremony talked about Darci and poor Addie was crying so hard I thought she might faint. It was hard to see her so sad. I know she misses her mom everyday but I think graduating from high school and Kirk getting married were just huge reminders that every big day in her life for the rest of her life and her mom won't be there. It also made my heart hurt for Darci, that she was robbed of seeing her kids grow up. It was tough for Gary too.

Sean had fun playing with Dava's kids.

Nova, oh my goodness she was so adorable. She danced like there was no tomorrow. A song came on and she said "mom, hold my cupcake I have to dance!"

I said "Sean you know Mrs. is a girl" he said, "I know that's what makes it so funny!"

Peoria

We went to Illinois for Kirk and Lauren's wedding. We flew into Chicago, rented a car and drove the 3 hours to Peoria.

Riverfront museum. We went on a Saturday but we were the only ones there which made for an entire museum to play in without lines.

Lagoon Day for 2nd graders and going blonde

The 2nd graders take a field trip to Lagoon every year. It was a perfect day, beautiful weather. Because Lagoon was closed except for school field trips it was really quiet. It was a great day to play.

Sean wanted highlights in his hair in preparation for going purple when school gets out. Cracked me up, two people said "I didn't know Sean had blonde streaks in his hair."

Sean's excellent weekend

Sean had been counting down the days until Andrew and Ethan's birthday like it was his own. On Saturday they had a birthday celebration for the twins at Lagoon. Saturday night Sean was face timing with his sisters and arranged a play date on Sunday.
We met Lanette at our half way point (The McDonald's on 4500 South) We went to Ihop for breakfast. Mediocre as usual but the kids kept me and Don laughing.

The kids made a great train track.

Getting Fancy!

I've really been bugged by the blinds on the doors in our kitchen forever. We get new ones and within a short while they break or look like crap. Catherine had really cool doors put in her family room that had blinds inside the glass.

Don found some glass enclosed blinds that fit on top of the existing doors. They were only $180 each. I love, love, love them!

Goodbye Powder Pink Counter tops

It took 17 years but I woke up one day and said "I can't take these pink counter tops any more!!!!

So ugly!

They looked better laying in our front yard.

We went to Legacy granite but decided on Corian. Don really wanted something lighter. We are going to get the cabinets redone at the end of June.

They had to come back and put on the back splashes. They still have a piece they need to fix behind the sink. It just looks so clean. I went through the kitchen and got rid of about a third of my stuff. I've still got more to go through. Amazing how much easier it is to clean your kitchen when there's less crap to move around. I've been shoving pots in the cupboards and stacking up attachments for my Kitchen aid that I've never used. Crazy, why did I do that. We got a new microwave and toaster too.

Oh my FRAUD

May was just a month of people trying to rob me. Someone got into the office at the classroom and stole all our petty cash around $200 and a jar of change. A couple of days later I got a call from Macy's wanting to know if I had bought two $1400 gift cards on line. I said "no" and they said "are you sure?" Pretty sure I would remember spending $2800 in gift cards,

The frosting on the fraud cake! Don and I were going through all the money we spent on the renovation of the 512 house. It was a total of $16000. I was online reading off all the expenditures and I came across the checks above. I was so confused. How did Sharron Newbold end up with her name on a check with my account number and address. Well, Sharron Newbold got a copy of one of our checks and made her own! Being the gifted criminal she is she used her own name and driver license number. I did a criminal background check on her. She seems to like creating counterfeit prescriptions but appears to be branching out. Funny thing when I was complaining to Catherine about her she knew who she was. She said "I thought she was in jail." Well you thought wrong, she's out of jail writing checks to Victoria Secret on my account. Idiot. We are sure one of the workers we wrote a check to sold or gave a copy of that check to counterfeiters. Pretty sure it was the loser who did our fence. I went to the Centerville police department but then had to file reports in West Valley and Salt Lake where she actually wrote the checks.

Enjoying the week

Meeting with my nurse lunch bunch. We actually had lunch twice this month!

We were going to Lagoon for Mother's Day but it was going to be rainy. We went on Saturday and it was still a little cool. We stayed two hours. Right after we left it started to pour.

After Lagoon we went to Famous Dave's for lunch.

Khloe riding Lapa.

I pulled out Sean's Thomas the train set and Khloe had lots of fun.

Claire Valentina Cramer

Valentina's infant photo shoot. That little girl is a doll.

I love this little face too!

Of course Khloe loving Val is my favorite.
