Sean's Doodle for Google

Sean's Doodle for Google. The theme was "one thing to make the world a better place" or something like that. For the past six months everything in Sean's world has been Mario but now he's all about Pirates. All of his letters are pirate themed because apparently Pirates would make the world a better place.

Happy anniversary to us

Sean had ski lessons on Valentine's Day so we had to leave at 2:30 to go to Wolf Mountain. We ended up eating pizza at the ski lodge the  pizza and the company was good. I have a home caregiver coming in a couple of hours a day for mom but we can't leave the house for too lon

 We've been married 15 years.

Sean and Tyson getting ready to ski. Sean was excited because he learned to jump on his skis. It was a strange ski day because it was raining. The snow was similar to soft ice cream. Probably the same kind of snow the Olympians are having in Russia with the 60 degree temperatures they are having.

Wizards are so last week!

This weeks hat project is the pirate! In addition to a Kipper episode where they wear pirate hats Sean has been watching Pirates of the Caribbean. I think it's a little on the scary side but he likes it.
Corresponding treasure map. He also made a pirate ship steering wheel and flag.

Mom's broken arm

While I was getting Sean ready for his program mom called and said she fell. Don and I went downstairs and she was lying on her back on the floor in front of her TV. The positive side of her losing so much weight is it's pretty easy to haul her butt up off the floor. We got her up and back to bed. Her arm was hurting. I was pretty sure it was broken. There was no deformity. My certainty was based purely on the fact that when she falls all the way down she usually breaks something. I had to get Sean to the program so I told mom I would call Brad and have him come take her to the hospital. She said she didn't want Brad to take her to the hospital she would wait until I got home so I could take her. Seriously, give me a break. I put an ace wrap on her and went to the program. Anyway by the time we got home she was too tired to go to the hospital. I gave her pain pills and she went to bed. I took her to the ER first thing Saturday morning. I have to call the orthopedic office tomorrow for an appointment to have it casted.

Saturday was really a struggle getting her up and down. She's moving a little better today. Having the hard splint helps because she can use the left arm for balance without causing a lot of pain. Our biggest challenge today was getting her showered.I had a major deja vue of showering dad. I wrapped her arm up in Target bags. It really wasn't that difficult but everything stresses her. I got her hair washed, her clothes changed and her bed made so at least she is clean and miserable. Her biggest complaint is being tired. That's not a new complaint though she's usually tired.

Next week is a challenge because I work every day all day except Friday. I texted Brad and Lynn and told them they needed to bring her lunch. Brad texted back immediately and said he would bring lunch on Monday and Wednesday. I texted Lynn and told him that left him or Wendy responsible for Thursday. I will text him again on Thursday and remind him. Don is working from home on Tuesday so he can fix her lunch. Home health is coming on Monday for an intake assessment. Hopefully she can get a home health aide for a week or two to come in and help her shower and change her sheets while I am at work. I made Chex Mix and banana bread so I can put those next to her bed to snack on.

Chinese New Year

Sean's class had a dress rehearsal for their Chinese Program at the elementary school.  I was glad I went because I wouldn't have gotten decent pictures at the High School. The real program was so crowded, standing room only. The kindergarten kids had to be there 15 minutes early so we were able to get a seat. Vonzaa the principal said they got a bigger venue this year than last and will have to get a bigger one next year. She joked that before long they would have to hold the program at the E Center.
Sean and Avery talking. Caleb looking bored. Not sure what Samantha is doing. Sean came home from school crying on Monday. He pushed Samantha in the play ground. He said it was accident and he told her he was sorry but she wasn't forgiving. When she got out of the car at carpool she stuck her tongue out at him. Oh crisis! They were best friends again on Tuesday.
 Sean and Jacob talking.

This picture was from the real program at the high school.
Doing their little song and dance number. At the high school you couldn't see the kids in the back because they weren't on risers. It worked better at the elementary school. However, all the other grades were spread out across the stage dancing so kindergarten was the only grade affected. Sean was so excited and wired. I thought he might get nervous when he saw how big the audience was but it didn't bother him. It didn't seem to bother any of the kids in any of the grades.

She's mobile

She's a stealth little ninja hiding in the bushes or maybe a little tiger.
Khloe pulled herself up to standing by the couch and Sean thought that was the coolest thing ever. He kept saying "she is so smart, she is the smartest baby in the world." Yes, Khloe is the first and only baby to ever pull herself to a standing position. I admit she did it with style and a high degree of cuteness.
Khloe is officially and ankle biter. She has a tooth and can crawl with ease and speed.
I got my camera off fish eye and now it's on vivid color. It does make Sean's faded blanket look great.

Fun in the snow

Sean and I went tubing with Catherine, her boys and her mom. Sean had a blast. The weather was nice for the first 90 minutes. The last 30 the sun went behind the clouds and it stated to snow. It got frosty. Our first run down the mountain Sean kept saying "I DON'T LIKE THIS, I DON'T LIKE THIS." When we got to the bottom he wanted to do it again. He didn't like it a second time so we moved to the smaller hill. We took our final run down the big hill and he liked it.

I don't think this is how you are supposed to sit in the tube.
Tyson, Sean and Catherine
I got a new camera for our trip to Iceland. I haven't figured out all the settings. Unbeknown to me I had it set on "fish eye" which made the pictures distorted. Apparently it's a popular lens.
Sean and Tyson
Sean's favorite part of the day was riding snowmobiles. He thought that was the coolest thing ever. The next day Sean was telling me how he missed his old school because they went on field trips. Silly boy, his life is one field trip after another!
Sean

At the end of the day when the snow started falling.

I'm at SLRMC today doing clinical with Eagle gate RN students. It's weird being back at the hospital. It's fun to see old friends but I don't really like being here. So many memories. Most of them good but the last year I worked here was stressful. The good out weighed the bad so I'm not sure why I'm not enjoying being here. I think it's more like the hospital is someone who I used to love. If it wasn't for the years I spent at SLRMC we wouldn't have Sean and our lives would be totally different.

Yesterday I went to Oakley to teach a CNA class at an assisted living center. It was an hour drive each way. The weather was nice. Before I got out of Oakley I had to stop for a herd of deer to run across the road in front of me.

Busy Kid

I love when Sean makes costumes. Before long he will be way to grown up for such cuteness. Sean still likes to watch "Kipper the Dog" and in one episode Kipper is a magician. He wanted a magician hat so we made one. The next day he made a magician hat for Jacob and one for his little girl friend Samantha. He put hearts on Samantha's instead of stars. Samantha said "everyone knows girls love hearts." I thought he'd done it because her middle name is Valentine.

Jacob a little boy who lives down the street spends a LOT of time at our house. His mom is sick more often than not. She ended up in the hospital on his birthday. They dropped him off at our house a couple of hours before school started on their way to the hospital. His mom had planned a little after school birthday party which she had to cancel. Jacob was sad so we had a little after school party at our house. The only people going to his party were Sean and Samantha (the car pool) so it worked out well. Samantha was there, I don't know why I don't have a picture of her. Jacob looked at the cake and said "oh, there seems to be some sort of mistake. This isn't my cake. My cake is a batman cake." Bummer kiddo. I had to explain that his parents were still getting him a batman cake. He is such a funny little kid. Yesterday Sean said "Jacob was brushing his teeth and he got toothpaste on his cheek but he wiped it off." I asked Jacob, "what toothbrush did you use?" He said, "I don't know."
Happy despite the fact I got the cake wrong.
