Cold Halloween

We've had record breaking cold temperatures this week. It was 11 degree's this morning. It was a cool trick or treating, around 32. Sean and his friends had fun. It was kind of nostalgic because they will be in junior high next year and will probably quit trick or treating and start having parties.

We only had a couple dozen kids come for candy at the house. I sure missed not seeing my Khloe and Vally in their Halloween costumes.

Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman

This was our third year going to Soldier Hollow for the headless horseman wagon ride. Last year we took Jack so the kids decided he was part of what Sean says is now a tradition.

We stayed at Zermatt. All six of us in a small hotel room. Last year we came home the same night. I think coming home was better. But we did have to pick the girls up from Herriman and Jack from Provo so doing drop offs that late at night makes for a really long night.

The valet parking guy turned on the merry go round for the kids. Sean was so dizzy from his cold that it made him feel sick

Dinner at Zermatt

Jack is a strange little boy. He is very imaginative and talks all the time. He told us that his mom told him not to talk to us about his dad. Then he told us his mom and dad were going to make him a baby brother on their bed. Um, OK. This picture is Sean's leg after Jack bit him. Jack kept taking stuff off a shelf at the store. He touches everything and doesn't stop when you ask him. Sean put his leg in front of him and Jack full on bit him. I put him in time out for a couple of minutes which didn't seem to phase him

The main event, waiting for the wagon ride. The kids wanted to sit at the back of the wagon because it scarier. That's where they sat and the zombies did jump up on the back. Jack kept saying "Them aren't real."

Fall

It's fall, well today it's winter. We are having record breaking low October temperatures. It is supposed to be 12 tonight with a high of 30. It will be seriously cold trick or treat night. We have this beautiful tree in the back yard of our rental but all I see when I look at it is how much it is going to cost when we have to have it cut down.

Sean took his X box to SGI so he would have something to play there. I bought his a new PS4 for home. He hook it up to his computer downstairs. This made him a happy camper.

Tis cold season. Kylie gave it to Sean then Sean gave it to me. Those are Sean's tissues all over the floor not mine. Alika always had a bedroom full of tissues from her sinus infections.
Sean's teeth are moving with his braces and now he had rubber bands.

Crabbing

Night crabbing was a hit with the kids. Sunday we drove back to Tallahassee to take Don to the airport. Sean and I spent the night there and then drove back to the beach. Vally called crying that she wanted to come to the beach and Khloe made me promise we wouldn't go crabbing without her.

Khloe is usually scared of anything with more than four legs.

Sleeping and playing

Another one of the kids toys from home I brought with us. Helping Grandpa fix something.

Kids sleeping everywhere. I bought two blow up mattresses. We had them both in the big bedroom.

We didn't find this shell, but the people who did let us hold it.

Walking the beach.

We did find this shell but the kids didn't like it because it had barnacles so we threw it back in the ocean for someone else to find.

I found this picture on my phone. I actually found a bunch of pictures like this on my phone.

Don's first day on the island

Sean and I got in on Wed morning after a night flight. We went over to AJ and Steph's until evening and then drove to the beach. We had to wait for Khloe to get out of school. Don had to work so he flew the night flight on Thursday. Sean and I spent Thursday night and AJ's picked Don up from the airport and drove back to the beach. Saturday   Steph brought the girls and they spent the night so AJ and Steph could drive Gianni to the airport in Orlando.

This really is a spectacular island. I still can't believe we own a home here.

Sea Witch hair.

First day on the island

One of the things I have really missed about the girls is never hearing my front door open and little voices saying "GRANDMA." I was laying in my bed upstairs at the beach house and the front door opened and little voices said "GRANDMA." Ah, music to my ears. I brought some of their toys from home in an attempt to have continuity at Grandma's house. Cute girls.

I bought a couple of blow up mattresses after the first night. There is a hide a bed couch downstairs but Sean doesn't really like to sleep alone in a new place and Steph and Gianni were in the second bedroom so he slept on the floor and Khloe and Vally slept with me.

This beach really is a piece of paradise. Sean and I counted we are 250 steps from our house to the water. I guess it's less at high tide.

Sean working on his wave project for the science fair.

Not feeling the mermaid life. Her hair was blowing in her face and bugging her.

Oh I've missed my little monkeys!

Sean's loving beach life too.
