Birdie and Holly turned one

Time goes so fast. Both Birdie and Holly had their first birthdays. Biride had a first birthday at the house. The girls made cotton candy.

It was OF COURSE Ms Rachel themed. Garret wins the prize for BEST Ms Rachel.

Bird let all those strangers sing happy birthday without getting scared. She wasn't a huge fan of the cake, she just ate the strawberry.

I kept thinking I was going to do something fun for Holly's birthday but all I did was stick her in one of Bird's birthday gift bags and take a picture. Oh well, she knows I love her.

Good day

I put Marjie in the HBOT I've ready studies that it is really good for Alzheimers.

We went to Robintinos. Marjie got up to go the bathroom but I was following her so I was able to get her out of the restaurant kitchen before she got hurt. It made me think of the time Dad walked behind the counter at Pizza Hut and a worker started yelling at him and Art got pissed and started yelling at the dude for yelling at the man with Alzheimer's. Memories.  While on the thought of memories, I pulled out the stack of original bathroom tiles used on the side of our house growing up and gave one to each of the siblings. I saved one for me, Tim and Art.

We went to an art studio and painted some bowls. It was a most excellent day.

Lost

Don and I met Marjie and Cary at the state fair. We were having a really good time eating, and walking around. We stopped to get the caricature drawn and were sitting in a little tent. Marjie had to go the the bathroom. The bathroom was literally right across from the tent. Marjie went in the bathroom and Cary was watching her. She was walking back and poof, she disappeared. It was terifying. It took an hour to find her. I was running around finding security and the police. I felt like no one was doing anything. Marjie had left her phone and purse next to Don in the tent. Don stayed at the tent and Cary walked around with her phone trying to get it to sync with her Apple watch. I started stopping everyone in a golf cart or scooter and showing them Marjie's picture and asking them to look for her. Security had her picture and had given it to everyone at the entrance and exits and the police were already at the fair. I felt like no one in the golf carts really cared. I saw an middle age black woman in a jazzy chair and went up and showed her Marjie's picture and told her what was happening. By this time I'm full on crying. This lady, whose name I don't know said "I will help you." She looked the whole time and never stopped until after we found her. She reminded me of the black lady on the cruise ship who helped me find Sean when he was two and lost. I wish I knew both those women's names because I am eternally grateful for their support. Cary finally found Marjie in the 4H building. We had been there earlier and when Marjie knew she was lost she went and sat in the building. She said she was scared and she knew she was lost but didn't know what to do so she just sat down.

4 out of 6 siblings

I honestly did not think I would ever see Lynn alive again. I had not seen him since the very beginning of COVID, before the lock down. He doesn't answer his phone or respond to text and I'm not comfortable calling Wendy to ask to speak to him. We went to Brad and Teresa's mission homecoming and Lynn and Wendy were there. I was shocked. Lynn looked old and confused but they disappeared after the service before I could catch them. I literally ran out in the parking lot screaming his name but they were getting in the car and zoom they were gone. I was really sad.

Fast forward the following week and Marjie and Cary came to visit. Cary had a WWE show at the Delta Center that he had to cover. I texted Brad and Teresa about coming for dinner and then thought what the hell, I'll ask Wendy. I sent Wendy a text and said that Marjie was going to be in town and the she had Alzheimer's and I would like to have all of us who are here get together. I was shocked when she responded with "what can we bring?"

When Lynn and Marjie looked at each other with that lost Alzheimer's look, so much sorrow in their eyes and they hugged a really long hug. Just writing about it is making me cry. I think I cried the entire weekend.

We had such a fabulous visit. If I don't get Alzheimer's I'll always treasure it. I made Lynn dodaddles and chocolate cake with seafoam frosting and it made him really happy. He asked if it was his birthday. We sat around talking until 11 at night. Some stories were funny and some were just tragic. If someone asked me I would say I had a good childhood but when we started talking I realized just how screwed up it was. All the beatings, living in a house with bathroom tiles, kids making fun of us. Brad told a story about a dog we had named Richard. There was also a kid across the street in the trailer park named Richard. Human Richard came over to the house and told Brad in front of dad that Richard was getting in his garbage can and his dad was mad. Dad made Brad go out in the back yard and did a hole then get the dog on a rope and dad shot the dog then Brad had to bury it. Honestly, what the heck kind of messed up childhood is that. I know I had to have heard that story before and buried it in my brain somewhere because it's so awful. And we just sat around talking about all this basically messed up trauma. I can't believe we turned out normal. I know mom and dad did the best they could but that's some messed up childrearing.

The flu and a back strain and staying busy

Sean had to visit the chiropractor a couple times after lifting 420 pounds in a dead lift.

I cannot believe this ripped teenager is my itty bitty baby Biscuit. It's not so itty bitty anymore.

I can't remember why but Jennie wanted to take this picture. I think we tried to get Sean in and he wouldn't.

Sean is taking a welding class at school. Don took a welding class a few years back so he's helping him with his setup.

Our little foster dog

I'm fostering a dog from the Davis County Animal Shelter (Farmington). She is believed to be a Maltese. The shelters says she is 3 years old my dog groomer thinks she's closer to 5 or 6. She will be available for adoption from the shelter on Friday. Her "stray hold" is up Thursday at 6 pm.

About this dog:
She is chipped, but it is not registered.
She cannot bark. I assume her bark box has been removed.
She loves kids but I don't think she'd be safe with little kids who could accidently hurt her because she can't bark.
She is house trained BUT she can't tell you when she wants to go outside or if she can I haven't figured it out yet. I let her out every couple hours and she immediately goes potty but if I wait too long she will pee on the floor. (I didn't let her out until 7:30 am this morning which was too late!) She lifts her back leg to pee, sometimes both of her legs and pees standing on her front paws. She is not pad trained at all that I can see.
She looks like she has had puppies but she was spayed at the shelter.
She WILL NOT cross a threshold to come in to the house or in a room without a lot of coaxing. I thought she didn't know how to use stairs but it's just the stairs inside. She will go up and downstairs outside but will just sit at the top or the bottom of the stairs inside. She WILL NOT get on the furniture or a bed unless she is picked up and placed there.
She will sit when asked and she does this funny little stand and dance move.
She is honestly the cutest dog and so much better behaved than my little fur goblin!
She LOVES to sit in my lap. She sleeps under my bed. This is a great lap dog. She will sit there all day! She loves to go for walks.
She is good for about 2 miles then you have to carry her. She has tiny legs. She only weighs about 3 pounds. She doesn't pull on the leash or bark at other dogs. (Well, she doesn't bark at anything. She doesn't react to other dogs) She does like to sniff human's feet.
She was found in Woods Cross around 1500 South. She has a really choppy haircut. I assume it was done at the shelter because she was matted. She seems healthy but her breath is really bad. She needs her teeth cleaned. She let me brush them but they need a professional cleaning at the vet. I need to find her a home because I just can't take her back to the pound and put her back in that cement cage.
