After 9 years

We've been at our Midvale location for 9 years. That's the longest we've been in one location. Our lease is up at the end of July. The rent has increased every year and now we are paying $6000 a month in lease and utilities. We also have a lot of unused space in our building. If classes stay online or in any hybrid form we need less room. And we only use all the room we have a couple of times a year.

All things pointed to moving. Claudia had a realtor looking and we are planning on moving to W Jordan close to the freeway. These are the before and after drawings Don made of our space. Right now it is all divided up as a doctors office. We are going to open it up into 3 large areas with no wasted space. It's about half the size of the place we are in now which makes our rent half the price.

Things to celebrate

I keep getting Facebook updates from Stewart elementary. It's strange to think I am done with Stewart, AGAIN! I never thought I would have another child in elementary school so being back there at all was a surprise and now we are back to Centerville Jr High.
Mao Yu had her 31st birthday. Poor thing is trapped in the US. She can't go home because there are no flights and if she did come home she couldn't come back. Now that the Visa's are not being given out she doesn't know if she will even be able to go home for Christmas. Amity, the company that sends the immersion teachers is not sending any teachers or interns this year.

We had a BBQ at Alika's for father's day.

Summer marches on

Went to lunch with Laura and Margaret. We ate outside on a blanket and then it kind of cool so we put the seats down and sat in the back of my car laughing for a couple hours.

Sean stays up until 1 and sleeps until 1.

Smart granddaughters

Khloe's reading video
These are pictures the girls were coloring right before we left Fla to come home.

The boy keeps rearranging

I think it's a teenage thing, the desire to rearrange. Alex did it, Shari did it, Alika did it and now it's Sean's turn. He is constantly wanting to rearrange his computer room. He had it set up so he had to crawl under the table to sit. Um, no!

Rearranging the second time in a week. He wanted this table from my classroom and since we are moving to a smaller classroom I let him bring the almost 7 foot table home. Don had to reinforce the cheap IKEA wood with a steel bar underneath so it was strong enough to hold up all the screens.
