More summer fun

Nate left Wednesday morning and the girls came over Wednesday night. This is night five at our house and they are going home tomorrow. They are moving next week. Sean is going to start saying "I miss my sisters" and "I'm bored about 2 hours after they leave."
I don't know why Kylie makes this face in pictures but she does.

Happy Birthday Don, See ya next summer Nate

Sean's birthday was on Wednesday but I had to work so we celebrated on Tuesday.
Val discovered her hands. They are fascinating things!
Nate's plane left at 6:50 a.m. I had to have him at the airport at 4:50. Nate is one good natured kid. He doesn't complain much. When we were waiting for the plane and I told him he had to wait another hour he said the plane rides took too long and the last one took two days. I'm sure it felt like two days. He made it home without any problems. We will miss that kid. He was already planning his return trip next year.

Lake again

Don likes to take kids on their first boat rides. It's getting harder to find kids that haven't ridden because most of the nieces and nephews have been to the lake. Nate is a beach boy not a lake boy so he took his first boat ride. He wasn't a huge fan. He was a good sport but it made him nervous.

Sean has gotten all sorts of brave on the blow ups.

Alika and Garret came up with their dog Ozark.

Seriously brave now.

Ozark thinks he likes the boat. Alika was worried he was going to drown and Garret wanted him to go in the water.

Eating somewhere?? I think Arillia's.

Poke go crazy

A new app was released last week called Poke Go. People have been Poke crazy. The app lets you chase virtual Poke characters around.
This is Nate waiting for Sean to get done with piano lessons. He was really bored. I'm not sure why, he was playing on his tablet which is no different than what he would have been doing at home. I guess at home Sean would have been on his tablet as well. They have played really well, they've played with match box cars, made videos, played videos, swam and watched Netflix.
Sean's been taking piano lessons from a different teacher this summer. He wanted to learn some composition and she's been helping him. I think I may have him take lessons from both teachers in the fall.

Swim lessons

The kids just started their second session of swim lessons at the rec center. They are doing really well. Nate can get around in the pool well but hasn't had any swim lessons so didn't know any strokes. He's improved a lot. Sean is doing really well. I moved him up to level 6 but he didn't like it so we moved him back to 5.
On Wednesday the rec center has the wibit which they love.

Haircuts

I couldn't handle Sean and Nate's hair hanging in their eyes. Nate wanted a buzz but his mom said no. She did not want him to lose his curls so we just went for trims for both boys.

I'm not sure what's with Sean making the face but here's the post hair cut picture.

Nate

Nate flew all the way from North Carolina all by himself. He even changed planes. When we were discussing him flying alone I asked him if he was scared and he said the only thing he was worried about was how he would get to our house from the airport. Funny boy! He made it without any problems. He missed his first flight of the day so Dan had to take him back to the airport and put him on a later flight. He slept most of the way.

Love those girls

Meeting for dinner at Fuji Sushi because the food I left in the crock pot burned. It was burnt so bad I need to buy a new crock pot.
Val with her "I'm so surprised face."

Kitchen Accomplished

When we got back from the lake the kitchen was finished and it didn't even smell.

Third day at the lake

All the years we've owned the condo at the lake and this was our longest "staycation." David and his girlfriend Kendra came up on Sunday. They spent Sunday night but we went home Sunday evening. Sean wanted to sleep in his own bed and the kids and Don were all sunburned. They boated from 10 am until after 5 pm It was a long day of water.

Sean was so timid the first day out but by the last day he was all sorts of brave. Don drove fast and the kids would fall off and they'd get back on and do it again. I could hear them yelling all the way to the shore

Carver Petting Zoo

There's a petting zoo in Eden. We drove by it on the way to the grocery store. I don't know how we've missed it all these years. Don asked the kids if they wanted to go and of course they did. We got there at 4:30 and they close at 5. Don picked a great time because we were the only ones there and earlier in the day kids were waiting in long lines to feed and pet the animals. Brie fell in love with this one day old kid. She asked the farmer if it had a name and he said no so she named it Brownie.

Kylie's baby goat was having some separation anxiety and was crying for it's mom.

Ha I found a llama so it's mama and llama. OK, so technically it's an alpaca and not a llama but I'm not telling Khloe. I thought the picture was funny even with my stringy, wet hair.

Finishing feeding the horses.

The miniature horses.

The most loved animals, the kittens. Of course they each wanted one and they were rescue kittens up for placement. We didn't tell the kids that part of the story.
