Hot/cooled off tub and Lisa Jean's birthday

I had a new class start today and really didn't want to take the kids to the pool. Khloe and Vally don't have their bathing suits or floaties because it's all packed so we added some cool water to the hot tub and they played.

Tomorrow is Lisa's 10th birthday so we made birthday cookies. After the cookies they left to pick Ian up from the airport at 1030 and start a night drive to Oklahoma.

On a side note David and Kendra came back from Cambodia today. There 1 year adventure lasted less than a week. I haven't heard all the details but nothing was as they expected. They decided to leave within 48 hours of arriving. A brief blip someday they will talk about the time they moved to Cambodia for 3 days.

Funny kids

The boys decided they were going to sleep on floaties balanced across chairs. Big shocker, that didn't last.

Khloe and Vally were feeling crafty.  I said "Khloe quit breaking up the cups." She said "I''m making something." These are her binoculars.

Steph has their house packed up and almost completely cleaned out. They leave for Fla Saturday after AJ's test.

Lake day

We went to the lake on Friday the day after the 4th. Don fixed the boat from last year and it kind of worked but not really. The lake is really high, the kids had fun playing in the sand and swimming at the pool. We are selling the lake house so it was a little nostalgic as I started packing things up. There are lots of memories at the lake but I'm ready to move on and not at all sad. The politics of the HOA and the fighting with the campground is really bothering me and I'm ready to not have to hear about or pay for any of it.

Princess Elsa Cake

Vally found a Youtube video of someone making a Princess Elsa cake. We watched the video and decided to make our own cake. We baked the cake but Khloe and Vally had to go home to find and Elsa doll so we could decorate.

Visit from Autumn's family

Autumn and her family came from NC for a visit. The kids had high expectations from Nate's summer adventures. Fortunately for me they came at 9 pm on the 4th so right after a later dinner we walked to the park and watched the fireworks then woke up and went to the parade.

Later in the day we went over to Catherine and Jaclyn's Aunt Julie's house for a Harrison family party. The kids had a great time. Forth of July weekend makes it considerably easier to provide entertainment.

David and Kendra are on their way to Cambodia! 36 hours of travel and then 5 days to get settled before Kendra starts her teaching job. David has applied for a couple of jobs but hasn't been hired yet. They had to leave the dog with Kendra's mom because the airfare to ship her was thousands of dollars.
