| There was a total lunar eclipse. It was fun to watch it poolside while we ate ice cream sandwiches. |

| On the way to the airport in the morning we stopped at a beach. It was totally empty not a surfer in sight. I think it has something to do with the signs. Yuck! |

| No one really wanted to go to Lego Land but we could walk there from our hotel and I found a Groupon so we went for a couple of hours. The kids had fun but it's definitely geared to the younger kids. |

| We stayed at two hotels, one in San Diego the other in Carlsbad. The Carlsbad resort had some fun things for the kids. There were pools, pool tables, ping pong, hot tubs and this hammock that they spent hours on. |

| My favorite part of the trip was having lunch with my roommate from Ricks. I hadn't seen her in 15+ years. |

| Our first trip of the year was to California with a day trip to Mexico. I laughed on the bus taking us from our car to the airport as Larry was the name of the driver who almost made us miss the ship in Honduras. |

| We went out to dinner and parked behind the Mormon battalion. Catherine loves this place. I thought it was strange, Taiwanese sister missionaries dressed like pioneer women. |

| I found a tour company on TripAdvisor with really great reviews so we spent Friday in Tijuana. Our tour guide West picked us up at the hotel and it took about 30 minutes to get to the border. We had a great lunch in Rosadlinda Mexico. |

| I thought it was a great time to see the wall since fighting over funding for more wall has shut down the government for 35 days. As West explained wallatics Tyson walked along the wall and said "there has to be a better way, can't we use technology." We need to send that boy to congress. |

| I'm not really sure what this was about. We were on Revolution street and West was giving some sort of bribe to a police officer and a PR person was taking our picture. It was kind of weird. |
