Taking care of Florida business

Sean eating frog legs. 
All the unfinished business in Florida has been driving me crazy. We have the Tallahassee house rented but it was still full of our stuff and our car was in the garage. The people who moved in packed up our stuff. She had 27 boxes. She documented everything she packed. She had a notebook with list like : 3 cans of cream of mushroom soup, one box of oatmeal. I have no idea how much time she spent packing. She said she has OCD and I believe her. On a funny note. When we got to Tallahassee I knocked on the door and the daughter eventually answered. She said she just had a baby. She had a baby 5 days earlier and she hadn't told anyone. Her mom was at the school teaching when the office called and said the hospital was on the phone. She thought something had happened to her husband but it was her daughter calling to say she was about to deliver a baby. She's 26 so I'm not sure why she felt like she had to keep it a secret.

Rain, so much rain the first three days at the beach. It rained between 5 and 10 inches. It was kind of nice to sit inside and watch it. I remember as a kid when we went to the beach rain was horrible but that's because we were all stuck in a pop up camper and not a condo with internet and television.

Ears and teeth, oh my

This cute boy has had a hard week. He and Vally have both been sick with fevers but Connor had a double ear infection and teeth coming in. He was miserable!! Vally was sleeping over when she got sick and I asked her if she wanted to go home but she wanted to stay. Don had to run to 7-11 to get some Tylenol. The house is not stocked with Tylenol and Advil.

 

8th grade is a wrap

Sean finished another year of on line school with toothpicks and marshmallows!

He went and watched Ethan in a play at the Centerpointe theater.

The far end of the building Carter lives in caught fire. Carter's unit was ok but they turned off his gas. A lot of the units got their doors "breached" AKA knocked in by the fire department. A couple of units are quite damaged but no one was hurt.

                                               

NC relatives

I've been  back from NC two weeks and didn't post my pictures. The woods in Autumn's backyard go down to a stream. I didn't realize but the smell of my childhood is the smell of the woods in Autumn's backyard. The smell was so overwhelming it really took me back in time.

This little girl is something special. Her smile. She is a streaker and more often than naught is naked. She was licking my leg and I was laughing and Autumn said "don't encourage her." Tell me how you cannot laugh at a chubby, naked, two year old, covered in magic marker licking your leg. It's not possible.

Ellie took off in the woods and I was left to ponder the description for the Amber Alert, naked two year old with chocolate on her face.
