New chairs and a cute girl

We got new kitchen chairs. We first saw them in a Mexican restaurant. It took me a while to find out where I could buy them. They came from a company in Arizona called Southwest and Beyond. They had them made in Mexico. The owner goes to Mexico and picks up all the orders in a truck takes them back to Arizona and then has them shipped.

Fall program

Sean had his fall program at school. We bought front row seats at Tech Trek, that was kind of fun!

Sean is 8!

Sean is 8. He had a cold so he didn't feel great on his birthday. He had a party at Dartside with a dozen of his friends from school. He got hit in the ear with a dart and cried the first 30 minutes we were there. I was pretty frustrated. Dartside has gotten really busy. They were so crowded they had at least 40 people playing at the same time. It was way to many. It was total chaos.

I had gotten him an "upgraded gun" and he couldn't get it to work. Once he traded back to the normal one he was happier. In the end it worked out. He had fun the last 30 minutes and then they had cupcakes, pizza and opened presents.

8 years old! That sure happened fast.

Sean had 12 friends come to Dartside. Don and I drove two cars and we drove 7 of the kids. I had 5 kids in my car. When we were driving past Lagoon Sean said "my sister's dad went on a ride and he didn't even get wet!" One of the kids said "your sister's dad is your dad." Sean said "no it's not. I'm adopted." One of the kids said "Sean's adopted". I couldn't quite tell if his tone was incredulous or what but the car got quiet and you could hear a pin drop. I'm guessing the concept of adoption is foreign to these kids and they don't understand it. Sean said "if I wasn't adopted I would be in Texas and I wouldn't even know you guys." The conversation then picked right back up.

Freemont State Indian Park

We took a long time getting home. I had found a hike to a waterfall on line. I didn't know the water fall was an hour off the highway and then an hour back to the highway. We never did find it. We made our way to Brian's Head ski resort which we had never seen before. They had a lot of snow. We got back on the highway and then took a 20 minute detour to Freemont State Indian Park. It had an interesting museum. Sean is grinding corn into meal.

Sean loved the pit house. I told him he was 1/4 native american and now he wants to build a pit house in the back yard so he can sleep in it with Kylie ane Brie.

The park had a really crappy map. It marked "points of interest" but didn't tell you what you were supposed to be seeing. A few had signs. We went to several where we stood around looking at rocks trying to figure out what we were supposed to be looking at.

Cactus

One of the well signed points of interest. There is a painting of an Indian blanket high of the mountain cliffs. They had a pole you could look through to see the picture.

Surprise Alex, we're here!

I didn't have to work last weekend. Don said "what should we do this weekend?" I said "let's go to St George." We had that conversation around one and at 2:30 we were on the road. I hadn't talked to Alex about our plans and was hoping they were home. If we didn't get hold of them before we got there I figured we'd take a picture in front of their house and put it on facebook with the caption "Alex, where in the world is your mother." He called us while we were in route so we didn't surprise them too much. We went to dinner Friday night and then Saturday Alex showed us around his work. He has done very well and I am proud of him!

Sitting at his desk.

On Saturday we went to Dixie Rock and took some pictures then Alex and Loreal went shopping for a new bed and television. We hiked around the red rocks for a couple of hours.

Kind of like a slot canyon.

Sean was a billy goat. He had no fear of scaling those rocks. There was a man walking around who is 3 weeks short of being 91. Impressive.

A mini arch.

Sean was so excited. He was yelling "I found a hot tub." Don was trying to tell him he had discovered it but Sean wasn't buying it. "If I'm the only one to be here why are all these names written on the rock?"
All of us in the hot tub.

Army guy, the cutest witch and the dude

We didn't carve pumpkins until the day before Halloween.

Khloe helped out by eating apples.

Cutest little witch EVER!

Sean decided last month the was going to be Steve from Minecraft. I ordered a Steve head online. He changed ideas every week and wanted me to buy him a different costume. Mostly scary ones like slenderman. That wasn't going to happen. Steve would be a very difficult costume because you would have to walk around with a box on your head. About two hours before it was time to trick or treat he decided he wanted to be an army guy. He had the pants so Don got him a shirt at Walmart and a pair of gloves and he had his costume. Catherine and her kids went to Vernal for a hockey game and weren't sure if they would be back in time for Halloween. Sean wanted to trick or treat in our neighborhood so we stayed home for the first time in 6 years.

Don was "the dude". We set up a table outside and had hot chocolate. It was really a nice night and root beer might have been a better choice. I think next year if the weather is nice I will do root beer and popcorn.

My Super Girl

Such a little poser. I bought some after Halloween costumes. I figure pretty soon she will be into dress up.  I got out my camera and she threw her hands up ready for her Captain America picture! A couple of weeks ago AJ noticed that the key to my grandfather clock was missing. AJ looked at Khloe and said "do you think she could have anything to do with it?" I asked Khloe "do you know where my key is?" She shook her head yes and the took me in the kitchen and pointed at my silverware drawer. I said "it's in here." She shook her head yes. I dug around for a minute and sure enough there was the key to the grandfather clock. She is one smart little cookie.
