Salt Flats and Salt Air

We took a mid-month road trip to the Salt Flats for the races. We went on Sunday so the races were pretty much over. The temperature was low 80's but with the reflection from the salt it was hot and bright.

We stopped at the Great Salt Lake and actually swam. Everyone who got their hair wet had seriously stiff hair. It was kind of gross.

Fairy-tale Festival

Khloe and her friend Taylor helping me show a condo.

It was the Fairy-tale Festival at the theater so the girls dressed up in their princess attire.

Vally was more into the activities than the Princess encounters.

A trio of Princess Bell's.

Vally's not to sure about this whole princess thing.

She was sure about the bounce house. She was tired so we brought her home and let Khloe stay longer with her friends and parents. We were walking home and Vally said "agua" I told her "I know I'll get you some as soon as we get home. She opens her mouth, points in it and says "AGUA" Cute little girl. She had agua the minute we walked in the door.

Hot Vegas Wedding

The predicted high in Vegas on Saturday was 107. I don't know how hot it actually got but it was HOT. Alex was wearing a tuxedo and he was sweating like a guy in a tux on his wedding day. I told him to take the jacket off or he was going to pass out. I had sweat running down my neck and I was wearing a short sleeved dress and sandals. The wedding was outside and thankfully in the shade.

Misty looked beautiful.

Quick Vegas Trip

Alex and Misty had a little wedding in Las Vegas on September 8th. We flew instead of driving the six hours. We flew in early Saturday and flew out early Sunday morning. We arrived around 8:30 am and the wedding wasn't until 2 so we did a little Vegas exploration. We went up the Stratosphere and wandered around for awhile. We got something to eat and then drove to West Vegas where the wedding was being held. We went to Supercuts and got our hair washed and a blow dry.

After the wedding we went out to dinner with Alex and Misty's family. After dark we took another trip to the Stratosphere so Don and Sean could ride the Big Shot. I thought it looked terrifying but they had a good time.

Mountain Man Rendezvous Fort Bridger Wyoming

We stopped for lunch as we left the reservoir and I asked the server if she knew of any places that sold Indian crafts. She said there was a Mountain Man Rendezvous 40 miles a way and they would have lots of Indian stuff. It was in a town on our way home so we stopped. I went looking for the materials I needed for Sean's Native American project and Don and the kids went exploring.

They met a man named Roy. Roy is a retired teacher with a big interested in Native Americans. He owns a tee pee and goes on the road with his wife. When he learned about Sean's Native American heritage and his desire to learn more he spent over an hour teaching him about culture. He really went above and beyond. At the end of our visit he dressed the kids up in clothes and accessories from his collection. It made for a great photo and even greater memory.

Roy, the teacher.
