Getting our politics on

While Sean was spending the night with his sisters Don and I went to the capitol to listen to Jim Debakis he was having a town hall for Republicans. We aren't Republican's but we were busy Friday night so we had to do Saturday. There was only one actual Republican there. It was interesting to listen to him speak. The politics in this state/country are messed up. I joined a group called Utah Indivisable and I've been emailing senators and congressman almost daily. The local senator from Centerville basically told me he was a conservative Republican as were the majority of people in his district so he was voting with his party. One bill that didn't pass was the bill to raise the tax on food. Every other bill I was opposed to passed. The state is voting to give tons of money to lobbyist and corporations and taking money away from the public schools It's mind boggling the crap that goes on.
