When Alan (the social worker) did the second visit of the home study one of the questions he asked was "how do you teach your children about work?" I thought that was such a dumb question. The same way everyone else does. When we do chores Sean helps. He helps unload the dishwasher, he turns on the washer, when Don does yard work Sean helps. That's how all the kids have learned. I thought about that question later and decided maybe it wasn't so dumb. Depending on what your parents do maybe you don't learn those things. A child might learn when the welfare checks come or how to use food stamps. |
