Road Trip!

We took a road trip this weekend. I'm not talking a little jaunt across town. I am talking some serious hours sitting on our bums. Steph's mom and cousin wanted to see Vegas and the Grand Canyon. So off we went. Well sort of, they went in one car and we went in another. Sean is a trooper when it comes to traveling. Having Alika in the back seat was a help and so was a computer full of videos. When I was a kid my activity in the car consisted of fighting with my brothers and sister and making chains out of juicy fruit and fruit stripe gum wrappers. We left Friday at noon and drove to Vegas.

About an hour before we got to Vegas we started promising Sean that he could swim as soon as we got there. We checked in got our swim suits on and went to the pool only to find out the pool closed at six. How lame is that. Sean went swimming in the bathtub and was a good sport about that too.

I am not a big fan of casinos. Go figure, I don't smoke, drink or gamble so there's really not much for me to do there. (Except eat) We went to the buffet at the Stratosphere. Not the best. We really weren't at the hotel for much other than sleeping. (Except Alika who stayed up ALL night on Saturday in the casino)

Sean and I went up to the top of the Stratosphere while Alika and Don went out on the strip. At first it scared Sean but he liked looking "at the world." I had told him the stratosphere was like a space ship so we were in the top of the ship.
