Daisy's parents house

We had dinner on Saturday at Daisy's parent's house. Lot's of food. They were cooking up a storm!

Sean wasn't a big fan of the Brazilian food. He was being picky and wouldn't even eat the rice. He's usually pretty open minded about food. We ended up getting him McDonald's and that made him so happy. He said it tasted "exactly the same as home."

A selfie from the balcony on the top floor of their house.

There is so much outdoor living space. It reminds me of Costa Rica. A lot of things reminded me of Costa Rica. Tile floors, no hot water in the sinks, heater's on the shower heads. Brazil was a lot hotter than where we stayed in Costa Rica. It was fall when we were there I can't imagine how miserable it must be in summer. Daisy said it gets up to 100 degrees. She has a couple of window box air conditioners but they are expensive to run. I am glad we went in April.

Sean is really into exercise. He lifts weights at home every day. He was trying to ride the bike but it was too high. He worked out at the gym near the falls in Brazil but they wouldn't let him work out at the gym in Rio and he cried like his heart was broken.

Daisy's mom has this awesome out door kitchen. There aren't a lot of air conditioners in the houses so this is a great way to cook and not heat up the house. They funny thing was Daisy's mom and sister were inside cooking and her brother in law was outside cooking. There was a whole lot of cooking going on.

When we got Daisy's file as an exchange student from AFS in 1979 there was a picture of her taken right on this walk way. I would have never imagined that 35 years later I would be standing in the same spot.
